Data deletion
If you wrote to a business that uses Sigar, filled in one of its forms, or connected a Meta, Google or TikTok account to Sigar, you can ask us to delete your data.
Summary
- Anyone: write to info@sigar.net with the subject "Data deletion request".
- If you connected an account: remove Sigar's access from Meta, Google or TikTok, and write to us so that we delete what is already stored.
- Time limits of Argentine Law 25,326: we delete or correct data within 5 business days, and we answer access requests within 10 calendar days.
1. Request deletion by email
This works in every case: if you wrote to a business on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram, if you filled in a lead form, if you commented on a post, if you left a review, or if you are a Sigar user.
- Write to info@sigar.net with the subject "Data deletion request" (or, in Spanish, "Solicitud de eliminación de datos").
- Tell us which business you wrote to, on which channel (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, form, Google or TikTok), and your phone number, profile name or username.
- No special form is needed. Do not send us passwords or copies of ID documents.
What we do:
- We may ask you for some information to confirm that the request is yours.
- We inform the relevant business, which is the controller of your data.
- We delete from Sigar your contact details, conversations, messages, attachments, texts of transcribed audio messages, profile picture, comments, the reactions to posts linked to your record, leads and what the business recorded about you in its features (for example, sales, appointments, pipeline or unified-contact suggestions), within 5 business days. For reactions from people who are not contacts we do not store the name or the ID, so we cannot find them: they are deleted automatically 90 days after Meta's last notification.
- We reply by email with what we deleted, which copies remain and until when, and, if we could not delete something, the reason.
2. Meta: Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp
If you wrote to a business or filled in one of its forms
Request deletion by email (section 1). Deleting the chat on your phone or blocking the business does not delete the data stored in Sigar. If you unsend a message on Instagram, or delete it for everyone on WhatsApp when the business also uses the WhatsApp Business phone app, Meta notifies us and that message is deleted from Sigar ("Message deleted" remains); to delete everything else, ask us by email.
If you connected an account or a business to Sigar
You can remove the "Sigar" app's access from Facebook:
- Go to Facebook and open Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Open Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
- Find Sigar and select Remove.
If the business is connected through its business portfolio, its administrator can do it from Business settings → Integrations → Connected apps → Sigar → Remove.
Removing access stops new data. To also delete the data already stored, write to us (section 1): we confirm the status of the request by email.
3. Google Business Profile In preparation
Today Sigar does not receive any data from Google. Once the integration is active:
- Businesses: to remove the "Sigar" app's access, if you added our integration account, remove it from People and access in your Business Profile settings. If you connected the profile with your own Google account, disconnect it from Sigar or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Content received from Google is deleted from Sigar within 30 days at most; to also delete our own records (drafts and approvals), write to us.
- If you left a review: if you delete or change it on Google, the copy in Sigar is deleted or updated within 30 days at most. If you want us to delete it sooner, write to us (section 1).
4. TikTok In preparation
Today Sigar does not receive any data from TikTok. Once the integration is active:
- Businesses: to remove Sigar's access, revoke the "Sigar" app's authorization from the authorized apps settings of your TikTok or TikTok for Business account, or ask us to disconnect it. We delete the access tokens immediately and the data received from TikTok within 30 days.
- If you filled in a lead form or commented on a video: write to us (section 1) or ask the business.
5. Sigar users
If you are on the staff of a business and want us to delete your user, ask your business's administrator or write to us (section 1).
6. What is deleted and what remains
- Copies that expire on their own. Deleted data may remain for a limited time in backups (up to 30 days: the daily database backup, up to 15 days; automatic backups of the database service, up to 7 days; previous versions of files, 30 days), in server logs (for a limited time) and records of failed tasks (up to 30 days), and in the technical copies of the platforms' notifications (90 days, or 180 if they could not be processed), until each of them expires. When a message is deleted, its content is also struck out of those technical copies. We do not use those copies to recover deleted data, except to restore the service after a failure; if that happens, we delete the data again.
- Outside Sigar. Deleting in Sigar does not delete the messages on your phone or in the business's Meta apps, and for WhatsApp they may remain for up to 30 days on Meta's servers. Nor does it delete a sale that the business already reported to Meta (Meta does not allow those events to be deleted) or whatever OpenAI keeps on its own from an artificial intelligence request (Privacy Policy, section 4.2). To delete data from Meta, Google or TikTok, use their own tools.
- Records without your data. A record that your request was fulfilled may remain (who carried it out, the request number and how much data was deleted), without your data. If the business uses enhanced privacy for health data, the record of who accessed your messages, without their content, also remains for up to 2 years.
- Emails already sent. Lead notifications already sent remain in the business's mailboxes: ask the business to delete them.
- The business's management system. If you are a customer of the business, your data in its management system is deleted at the business's request. If you write to us, we pass the request on.
- Legal obligations. We can only refuse to delete data, or delete it only in part, when a law requires us to keep it or when deleting it would harm the rights of third parties. In that case we keep only that data and the record of the obligation, and we tell you which data and why.
7. When a business stops using Sigar
When a business ends its relationship with us, or asks us to disconnect a platform or to delete its data, we stop receiving its new data, delete its access tokens immediately and, within 30 days, delete its data, unless it first asks us for a copy or a law requires us to keep part of it. What happens when a business removes Sigar's access from a platform, and the rest of the details, are in the Privacy Policy, section 12.
8. Requests about a business's data
Each business is the controller of its customers' data. If we receive a request about that data, including requests that arrive through Meta, Google or TikTok, we pass it on to the relevant business and resolve it together with it within the legal time limits. More information in the Privacy Policy.
